It is not automatically valuable because a task can be automated.

Find the repeated loop

Write down work that happens often: copying an enquiry into a tracker, confirming an appointment, preparing the same document or checking whether a payment arrived. Record frequency, time, mistakes and the cost of a delay. This gives you a baseline instead of a vague hope.

Fix the process before coding it

Automating a confused process only makes the confusion faster. Remove unnecessary approvals, decide which system owns each piece of information and make the exceptions explicit. Sometimes a checklist, template or reminder solves the problem well enough.

Automate the narrowest reliable step

Start with one trigger and one clear result. For example: when an approved form arrives, create a project record and notify the responsible person. Keep a visible log, make failures noticeable and provide a manual route when the integration is unavailable.

Keep people at consequential decisions

Sending a receipt is different from accepting a contract, publishing a page or moving money. Use drafts, previews and approval points where a mistake would affect a customer, a legal commitment or the public record.

Measure after launch

Compare the new process with the baseline. Count time saved, failures caught and steps removed; also count maintenance and subscription costs. If a small automation needs constant rescue, simplifying or removing it may be the better result.

Read next

Working together
What approval should mean in a digital project

How visible stages and specific decisions prevent surprise publication without stalling useful work.
Read article ↗

[1

post-28","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-uncategorized
["GET
